What is so different about curly eyelashes?

Although these kinds of natural eyelashes look gorgeous, they can be much harder to work with when it comes to applying eyelash extensions. Unlike those with who have naturally down sloping, straight or slightly curled lashes, curly lashes tend to be coarser with lashes that face different directions. Since their natural eyelashes are already curly, you will need to select a curl that matches their type of eyelashes such as a C or CC curl. However, you will want to avoid using a curl such as a D curl or curlier as when the extensions begin to grow out the lashes may begin to curl back towards their face. You will also want to avoid using slightly curled lashes such as a B curl as this is usually to straight for their curly lashes and may look unnatural.

Appling the Eyelash Extensions Correctly:

First things first, select the right pair of isolation tweezers
To achieve the best results, we recommend you select the right pair of isolation tweezers. The best way to choose is to evaluate how long the clients natural eyelashes are and select them based off this.

Choose the right eye pads
You may want to apply larger eye pads under your clients eyes to keep their bottom eyelashes separate. Remember, curly natural eyelashes can be harder to work with so you will want to keep them bottom lashes well separated to prevent any problems from occurring.

Make sure your client is positioned properly
Your client should always be positioned so that you can clearly see the base of their natural eyelashes. This is particularly important when your client has naturally curly lashes as the base of their eyelashes isn’t always that easy to see.

Select the right curl
Avoid extensions that are very curly such as a D curl as when the extensions begin to grow out, they will grow towards their face which could cause irritation. We recommend using either a C curl or a CC curl for best results. However, the curl you use depends on the look the client wants to achieve plus how straight or curly their natural eyelashes are.

Top tip: If you find it hard to apply lash extensions to curly eyelashes, you could always use an eyelash curler to straighten the eyelashes by using downward strokes. It is important you don’t use as little heat as possible on their lashes to avoid any damage.
