The Ultimate Festival Makeup Guide
With festival season coming up and tickets now on sale we have put togther the ultimate festival makeup guide. No festival makeup is complete without a gorgeous pair of false eyelashes and festival face gems! The aim of the game is that your makeup will last all day no matter the weather.
Stick To A Glowy Base
Usually festivals are in the summer time and we all know what that means… makeup sweating off!
To achive the ultimate glowy base, start with a primer of your choice. Remember, if your foundation is water based stick with a water based primer. If you have an oil based foundation stick with an oil based primer! This will ensure than your makeup will stay on at the festival all day and not become cakey or patchy.
If you have oily skin, try a matte foundation and bring out the glow through a popping highlighter! We also recommend using powder to set or bake your makeup. This will make your foundation last!
If you have dry skin, apply a good amount of moisturiser before your primer. Then apply a dewy primer and opt for a satin or dewy foundation. You can apply a setting power and add a pop of highlight for the ultimate glowy base.
Normal Skin (Not oily or dry)
If you have normal skin (not oily or dry) then its up to you what type of primer and foundation you decide to wear. Apply setting powder or loose powder to keep that makeup in tact all day long!
Bright Eye Shadow
Bring those beautiful eyes of yours a pop of colour. There is no better time than a festival for getting creative with colour! Try eye shadow colours that will make your eyes pop, for example if you have gorgeous blue eyes, pink will really bring out your eyes!
Lashes, lashes, lashes
Okay, first things first. You want to festival proof your false eyelashes. To do this, ensure you apply a good amount of mascara to your natural eyelashes. This will make sure that your real lashes will blend seamlessly with the falsies, it will also give the false eyelashes something extra to grip onto. Check the false eyelashes against your eyes, do they fit or do you need to give them a little trim? If they need trimming, hold the falsies against your eye and take note of how much needs trimming off. Use a small pair of scissors to carefully trim the lashes to size. Grab your favourite eyelash glue and apply it to the false eyelash band making sure to leave the adhesive to become tacky (takes around 30 to 40 seconds). This is very important as the tackier the glue is the easier and longer your false eyelashes will stay in place for.
Top tip: Make sure you bring your lash adhesive with you. Nothing will break your heart more than one of your falsies falling off!
Festival Face Gems
An absolute must! No need to splurge on expensive face gems, here at Lash Envy Beauty we understand the importance of affordable makeup and accessories. That’s we will soon have festival face gems available on our website at a super affordable price!
Top tip: use eyelash glue to stick the gems onto your face. If you simply apply the gems with the adhesive that is already on there, they are likely to fall off after an hour or so!
Always Wear SPF
Since festivals are outside, you don’t want to be caught out by the sun. Always wear SPF whether it is sunny or not as you don’t know how sunny it will end up getting. A great way to use SPF with your makeup is to buy products such as foundation or moisturiser that already contains SPF.
