Strip False Eyelashes VS Individual False Eyelashes

What’s The Difference?

Strip False Eyelashes: These eyelashes are already on a strip and therefore all you need to do is apply some eyelash adhesive and pop them on and you’re good to go! There is a large range of materials the falsies are made from and many styles to suit everyone. Strip false eyelashes take only a couple of minutes to apply and can be worn all day, however they must be removed before heading to bed.

Individual False Eyelashes: These eyelashes are not on a strip and you have to apply ever false eyelash one at a time and therefore this is much more time consuming than strip lashes. It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours to apply. This depends on how many individual lashes you’re applying, the more you apply the longer it will take! This is why many prefer to stick with strip lashes as they are much more convenient.

Strip False Eyelashes:

This kind of false eyelash is one of the most popular due to its super easy and quick application. Strip lashes are pretty much fool proof, everything is there ready and all you need to do is trim, apply glue and stick them on! There are various material these eyelashes can be made from: mink, faux mink, silk, synthetic, human hair and horse hair. Mink false eyelashes are the most expensive since they last for such a long time, hold their shape and look super realistic. However, not far from them is the faux mink lashes. These are pretty similar to the real mink lashes but they are vegan (no mink fur). The faux mink hair mimics the appearance of real mink and can last a good amount too. If you are opting for a cheaper option then synthetics are the one, our synthetic lashes are only £3.95!

Best Way To Apply Strip False Eyelashes:

You will need to measure the strip lashes against your natural lashes to see if they need to be trimmed. To do this, place the falsies on top of your natural lashes. If the band is longer than your lash line, you will need to trim them. Tip – your false lashes should start approx. 1cm from the inner corner of the eye where your natural lashes start to darken. When trimming lashes always trim from the outer corner of the false lashes where the hairs are longer, you’ll need the shorter hairs for the inner corners of your eyes. Do not put them past this point as they will feel uncomfortable and not sit right on your eye. Make sure the lashes are not too long on the outer corner either. It is always best to trim them just a little short of where your natural lashes stop to ensure they look their best and do not feel heavy on the eyes.

Apply the glue to the back of your hand (if in a tube) or use the wand (if the glue has an applicator). Apply a light, thin layer of adhesive to the band of your false eyelashes, making sure it is evenly distributed. Make sure you wait approx. 30-40 seconds before applying the lashes as this allows the glue to become tacky. Not waiting for the adhesive to become tacky is the most common mistake, it makes it very hard to apply the falsies as they slip and slide around!

Once the glue is tacky, grab your Lash Envy Beauty Applicator to apply your strip lashes perfectly first time round! The falsies should sit as close as possible to your natural lash line to give it a seamless look. Start by sticking the centre down and grab the outer corner with the applicators stick them down. Repeat for the inner corner. Do not worry if the lashes are slightly out of place, you still have plenty of time to adjust them before the glue sets. Using the applicator push the band of the strip lashes down in any place where it isn’t as close to the lash line as you with like it. Finally, push down on the band the whole way across to ensure the lashes are secure!

Individual False Eyelashes

These lashes are perfect for those who love to simply and subtly enhance their own lashes. Many people use individual eyelashes to create a cat eye style with the lashes by apply them to the outer corner of there lashes. Some people may find that false eyelashes can be a little too bulky for them and thus individual eyelashes suit them best. However, applying one lash at a time is time consuming especially if you are going for a much fuller eye look. If you are looking for a fuller lash look we would definitely recommend skipping individual eyelashes and grabbing a pair of strip lashes.

Best Way To Apply Individual Eyelashes:

Go for a glue which has a wand, if you have a glue without a wand we recommend you put squeeze some out onto the back of your hand. Dip each individual eyelash into the glue and wait around 30 seconds for the glue to go dry before applying. Repeat these steps until you are happy with the number of lashes you have applied. Top tip: we suggest you use a pair of tweezers or a lash applicator to pick up, hold and apply each eyelash. This will make the process much easier and mess free!
