Volume Eyelash Extensions?

Volume eyelash extensions are created using fans by picking up multiple extensions and placing them on one lash at a time. This makes them different from ‘Classic’ eyelash extensions as a Classic set only has one eyelash extension placed on one lash. The use of fans creates a gorgeous voluminous, full result which makes them super popular! Those who have naturally sparse eyelashes find that a set of Volume lashes can really fill in the sparse areas and create a lot of volume. The most commonly made fan is usually made up of 3-6 extensions. Depending on how full your natural lashes are, up to 200 extensions can be added. However, you can make them as natural or as full as you desire.

Volume Eyelash Extensions are usually 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D or even 6D.

2D: 2 eyelash extensions per natural eyelash

3D: 3 eyelash extensions per natural eyelash

4D: 4 eyelash extensions per natural eyelash

5D: 5 eyelash extensions per natural eyelash

6D: 6 eyelash extensions per natural eyelash

Applying Volume Eyelash Extensions

Both the technique and extensions used to create these gorgeous sets are different from a Classic set. Unlike Classics, you will be using fans whereas with Classics you are using individual lashes only. You will not able to use the same tweezers as you would with Classics as a ‘boot’ style tweezer works the best. You should never use the same extensions as you would with Classic lashes as these are heavier than you should use with volume. This is because you need the extensions to be as light as possible due to the fact you will be placing more than one extension onto your clients lash. Excess weight can cause damage to your client’s lashes and cause discomfort. Not to mention they are likely to fall out prematurely due to the strain the weigh from the extensions cause. Volume fans are most commonly made using .07, .06, .05 and .03 diameters but the most popular dimeter used is usually .07.
